IPL 2022, The Indian Premier League 2022 version has finally come to an end after a long campaign with the entry of two new teams and more tough competition. IPL started in 2008 with Rajasthan Royals being the first ever champions of the season. Till date 6 teams got the title and today the number changed to 7 as Gujarat Titans in their debut IPL season got the title beside their name.
The Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans had been consistent with their performance with a bit of luck too boosting their performances. Gujarat had performed extremely well in the league stage as they finished 1st in the points table. Their consistent performance continues too in the playoffs as they won the qualifiers too against Rajasthan Royals and reached the finals. In the finals again Rajasthan came in in the opponent side and Gujarat again successfully defeated them, winning their first ever trophy.
Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bat first. The decision worked against them as none of them succeeded in scoring big to take the team to a good total and got restricted at just 130. Gujarat Titans comfortably reached the target though they too lost 3 wickets but the partnership between Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya took the team to a winning situation with David Miller giving the final touch. Shubman Gill finished the match with a six in the first ball of the second last over.
