Punjab Kings registered a massive win today against the Ravindra Jadeja led Chennai Super Kings side and with this, they are finally back on winning ways now. PBKS had lost two of their last matches but this win would give them the much-needed momentum to get them going. With this win, they have now made their way into the 6th position on the points table and are definitely in contention to qualify for the top 4 spots this season.
CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. An incredible knock by Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa made sure that Punjab Kings reach a respectable total of 187 runs which is a good enough winning total at the Wankhede Stadium.
Although Chennai Super Kings were off to a tragic start to their knock, the heroics of Ambati Rayudu took them very close to the required target and all they needed was to build on the start that Rayudu had provided to them.
However, after the fall of Ambati Rayudu’s wicket, PBKS’ ace pacer Arshdeep Singh came in and held CSK to very low runs in his overs. In fact, he only conceded 8 runs in his 4th over and 6 runs in his 3rd over which is top-level death over balling by an Indian pacer. He was one of the key players who led PBKS to victory in today’s match and once the match was over, Twitter exploded with praises for the Youngster.
