Today’s mega match of IPL 2022 between two teams at the very top of the Points table, namely Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad turned out to be one of the most exciting and high scoring matches of the season as the match went on to the very last ball and ended with a thrilling turn with all-rounder Rashid Khan winning the match for his team Gujarat Titans on the very last ball.
The match was in favour of Sunrisers Hyderabad from the very beginning. Gujarat Titans might have won the toss but after coming in to bat first, it was all Sunrisers Hyderabad show after that. Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram scored the majority of runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad and it was finisher Shashank Singh who took care of the rest of the innings. SRH was thus able to score 194 runs in the first innings and it was a good enough total.
They played fabulously near the beginning of the second innings as well, thanks to the 5-wicket haul of Umran Malik. However, things took an unexpected turn in the last bit of the match when Gujarat Titans needed a little more than 30 runs in the last 15 deliveries. Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan are both well-established finishers in T20 cricket and they did a fabulous job together.
GT required 21 runs to win in the last over and Rashid Khan faced Marc Jansen. Tewatia faced the first ball and the last 5 balls were then faced by Rashid. The Over went like – 6, 1, 6, 0, 6 and GT registered a fabulous win over SRH, thanks to the heroics of Rashid Khan and Tewatia.
