IPL 2022, Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians met Sanjus’s Rajasthan in an encounter today at Dr. DY Patil stadium, Mumbai. Mumbai who were finding their first win got to taste it today vs RR as they defeated RR by 5 wickets with 4 balls to spare.
The birthday boy, Rohit won the toss and chose to bowl first. Inviting RR to bat first they restricted the inform team RR for just 158 for 6. Though Buttler played a remarkable innings of 67 off 52 with 5 fours and 4 sixes there were no other batsman who created a partnership to take the team score forward. That’s why after a good start they only registered 158 on the board.
The second innings began well for RR as they got the skipper for 2 off 5. Rohit’s poor form this season continues as he again failed to deliver with the bat. Kishan did some quick fires to bring the team on track but had to depart in the 5th over of the delivery of former MI pacer Trent Boult. MI’s star batsman Suryakumar Yadav anchored the innings with Tilak Verma scoring 51 and 35 respectively. Their innings brought Mumbai to the game. Pollard being expected to finish the game could not stand upon it but his fellow teammates did. The role of the finisher was nicely played by Tim David who scored a thunderous 20 off 9 at a strike rate of 222.22. The finishing shot was played by D Sams who finished the game off in style and delivered MI their first win of the season .
