Twitter reacts to Virat Kohli’s unlucky dismissal in the 2nd Innings

Things have not been going well for former Indian captain Virat Kohli lately. After missing losing the captaincy of all three formats of the national team, Kohli is now suffering from a lack of form yet again. He has failed to perform in the last few Test matches and he struggles in the series against West Indies as well. In the ongoing second Test between India and Sri Lanka, he departed very in the first innings and now he has met the same fate in the second innings as well.

In the 36th over of India’s second innings, Virat Kohli faced Sri Lanka spinner Jayavickrama. For the first 3 deliveries, he played consecutive dot balls and the fourth wicket turned was completely misjudged by the Indian skipper. Virat expected the ball to rise up but the tricky pitch of Chinnaswami has not provided much bounce in the Pink ball test. Thus it stayed low and hit Kohli’s pad. It was a clear LBW.

Surprisingly, Kohli had to depart on a similar delivery in the first innings as well. The former Indian skipper departed for just 13 runs today and he has been really unlucky throughout the entire second test.

Fortunately, India performed decently well in the second innings overall. They have scored 278/8 and have a huge lead of over 421 runs. They are clearly winning it from here as the Sri Lankan pacers did not look to comfortable batting on this pitch in the first innings and a 400+ target would be unachievable for them.
