Faf Du Plessis and Robin Uthappa slammed a six each off Shakib Al Hasan in one over during the final of the 2021 edition of IPL between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Upon winning the toss, KKR skipper Eoin Morgan chose to field first. MS Dhoni too wanted to bowl first in the biggest stage of them all. Both the teams made no changes in their playing XI.

As usual, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plessis opened the innings for Chennai. Gaikwad smashed a four in the very first over of the game off Shakib Al Hasan. The two got off to a flying start. They were dealing in sixes and fours and were sending the KKR bowlers out of the park.
The two completed a 50-run partnership in the first six overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad also got ahead in the race to receive the orange cap. Only once in 13 seasons of IPL, an orange cap holder won the tournament. But Ruturaj lost his wicket in the 9th over of the match. Sunil Narine comes up with a breakthrough in the first ball of the over. Gaikwad managed to score 32 off 27 deliveries which comprised of 3 fours and a six.

Eoin Morgan brought Shakib Al Hasan into the attack in the 9th over of the match to build up pressure on the new batsmen Robin Uthappa. But things did not go as planned. Faf Du Plessis smashed a six in the 4th ball of the over. Shakib tossed the delivery outside off. Du Plessis lifts that away for a huge six. The ball went easily over the wide long off.
In the final ball of the over, Uthappa sends Shakib out of the park for another six. Uthappa slammed a six over deep mid-on. Bringing Shakib into the attack did not work for the Knight Riders. With two sixes the momentum shifted back towards Chennai.
