Former RCB captain Virat Kohli has been very unlucky so far in the Indian Premier League 2022. First, he was unable to complete his fifty in the first match due to a sensational knock by Dinesh Karthik and he got unfortunately dismissed in the next match. Following the trend, he lost his wicket in the most unfortunate manner yet again in their ongoing match against Rajasthan Royals and it was undoubtedly the biggest turning point in the match.
Royal Challengers Bangalore gave a pretty great performance in the first innings and they were able to hold the strong Rajasthan Royals batting lineup to a mere total of just 169 runs. It seemed like a defendable total but still it was much lesser than what Rajasthan have usually scored this season and thus it seemed like RCB had a chance after all.
In fact, they even started off their second innings with a bang and both opener Anuj Rawat and Faf du Plessis were playing well. However, the two former RCB players who are in Rajasthan Royals this season – Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini then came into bowl and picked up the wickets of both the openers. And then came the unfortunate incident of Virat Kohli’s run out.
It was the most unfortunate runout. Virat Kohli asked David Willey for a run but the on-strike batsman denied at the very end moment and by the time Virat Kohli reached back at the other end, it was too late. Interestingly, it was Yuzvendra Chahal who ran him out. Virat Kohli was out by a whisker and although his bat was on the line, it did not cross it and thus the third umpire ruled him out.
Virat Kohli is a fit player and he very rarely departs on a run-out and unfortunately today was one such day.
