VIDEO: Anrich Nortje bowls a 150kmph Beamer – De Kock hits it for a Six

Anrich Nortje made a surprising return to the Delhi Capitals Playing XI tonight in their important match against Lucknow Super Giants and the player gave a very disappointing performance which just proved the point that DC should not have hurried with his recovery and he still needs a lot more practice to return to the Playing XI in a match as important as this one.

The South African pacer was out injured for almost a season and he missed a majority of last season as well due to the same injury. However, he was one of DC’s biggest powerhouses in the bowling unit and thus they retained him for IPL 2022 despite his injury. The reason being the same as why Mumbai Indians bought Jofra Archer – a prospect of the future and this is an investment whose benefits these two teams shall reap in the future.

However, in the first match, Anrich Nortje was horrible. He conceded as much as 35 runs in just 2.2 overs at an economy of 15 runs in an over and this just proves how horrible he was today. However, he did something today that was even more humiliating than these stats and that was a beamer that went straight for a six. When Anrich Nortje was up against his national teammate Quinton de Kock, he bowled a direct delivery at chest level. De Kock dodged the ball and nicked it for a six. The umpire gave it as a no-ball and thus it was a Beamer + No Ball + Six. Anrich Nortje bowled a similar delivery again and thus he was taken off action and replaced by Kuldeep Yadav – perhaps the most humiliating thing that could happen with a bowler.
