IPL22 is over for now. But the fever of T20 cricket isn’t. Team India is currently playing against one of the top gun of the cricket world, South Africa. A five match T20 series starting from today, 9th june.
The first match is taking place at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. India already faced a big blow as KL Rahul is injured and ruled out from the ongoing series. Previously he was going to lead the side. But unfortunately he got a right groin injury. In replacement, Rishab Pant got the captaincy role.
South Africa won the toss and invited India to Bat first. Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the innings for india. India started their innings very well. In just 6 overs they crossed 50 runs with a loss.
But in the fifth over, South African bowler Anrich Nortje, who was bowling to Ishan Kishan, in the 4th delivery, he bowled a 153.1 km/s delivery that thuds into de Quinton de Kock’s gloves. Nortje hits the hard length and gets it to climb, Kishan is rooted to the crease and has a tentative poke, the ball beats the outside edge and goes to the wicketkeeper’s gloves.
The delivery shocked everyone in the ground including Quinton de Kock.
India is currently on 138/2 after 13 overs. Ishan Kishan scored a brilliant 76, and Shreyas Iyer and Rishab Pant currently in the crease.
