Mumbai Indians have given a fabulous batting performance in today’s high-intensity match between them and Kolkata Knight Riders at the MCA Stadium. The effect of Suryakumar Yadav returning to the squad is clearly visible as the batsman played a sensational 52 off 36 runs knock against the Kolkata Knight Riders which is a fabulous start to the season. This is the first match of Suryakumar Yadav in the Indian Premier League 2022 and he hit a fifty in his very first match which tells us a lot about how terrific a form he really is in.
However, today’s match was also special for another player and that was South African youngster Dewald Brevis who is being referred to as ‘Baby AB’ by fans from all over the world. The South African kid who is just 18 years old, plays exactly like AB de Villiers and resembles him a lot. He played a great knock of 29 off 19 at a strike rate of about 152 and his knock included a couple of sensational shots. He hit two sixes and two fours in his innings and a particular shot that he played against KKR’s star spinner Varun Chakravarthy was particularly very special. It was a no-look six that Brevis hit effortlessly against one of the best Indian spinners in the league and it was definitely worth the watch.
Although he was dismissed by the same bowler Varun Chakravarthy a couple of deliveries later, Dewald Brevis made his presence felt in the Indian Premier League and there is no doubt that he is going to be an absolute cricket sensation in days to come. We wish him all the very best for his bright future ahead.
