IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals are playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 50th game of ongoing IPL. SRH won the toss and decided to bowl first inviting DC to bat first. DC had a bitter start with Mandeep Singh going out for a duck. Mitchell Marsh also went fast scoring just 10 runs off 7 balls. Later Rishabh Pant made a quick 26 off 16 with 3 sixes and 1 four.
Alongside the main heroes of the first innings were DC opener David Warner and West Indian Rovman Powell. David Warner scored 92 runs off just 58 deliveries and also anchored DC’s innings when they were losing wickets. Rovman Powell also joined Warner in the game and smashed 67 off 35 with 6 sixes and 3 fours at a strike rate of 191.43.
In the first innings fans were pleased with the gesture of David Warner. David, who was in his 90s and also smashing boundaries, refused to take a single at the last ball of the 19th over so that the power hitter could play the 20th over and take the score to some high. Rovman Powell in the 20th over made 19 runs of it with 1 six and 3 fours. Warner was seen celebrating his shots without worrying about his century.
This selfless work from David Warner won hearts over the internet. Warner and Powell both remained not out taking DC’s score to 207 setting a huge total for SRH to chase.
