Fast bowler Jhye Richardson was playing his debut test match replacing Pat Cummins. The 25-year-old came on to bat after the dismissal of his fellow teammate Michael Neser who was also making his debut. Richardson decided to go for big hits as Australia needed to score some quick runs towards the end. He mistimed the first delivery which went for a three over long on. However, he connected the second ball which he faced.

In the 150th over of the game off Chris Woakes bowling, Jhye Richardson middled the second ball he faced and sent it deep in the stands. However, Woakes was the one who had the last laugh as he dismissed the 25-year-old in the very next delivery. Richardson managed to score 9 in three deliveries.
