Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants faced each other at the Eden Gardens in IPL 2022’s Eliminator match for a place in the Qualifier 2 and it was a terrific roller coaster ride. After an intense battle, which is being considered by many as the best match of IPL 2022 by far, RCB defeated Lucknow Super Giants and thus they will now face Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2.
The winner of that match will then face Gujarat Titans in the finals of IPL 2022 to battle it out for the prestigious trophy. Royal Challengers Bangalore banked on the performances of centurion Rajat Patidar who came up with his maiden T20 century last night in absolutely impeccable fashion and with it, he gave RCB a huge footing in the first innings.
In fact, when both Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis departed early, it was Rajat Patidar who took care of RCB’s innings single-handedly and he made sure that they reached a respectable total. He was also supported well by Dinesh Karthik, who has by now established himself as the finisher of Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL 2022 season. Dinesh Karthik was once dropped by LSG captain KL Rahul and he used this lifeline to his advantage fully and he played a brilliant cameo.
His six against Dushmantha Chameera in the 18th over was definitely one of the best shots by him in this exciting match. It was so astonishing and massive that even KL Rahul was stunned by it. He was looking at the ball till the time it crossed the boundary line and he was awestruck by how huge the six was. The reaction has been caught on camera and a video of the same was posted by IPL on their website.
