In perhaps one of the shocking matches of the Indian Premier League so far, Royal Challengers Bangalore took on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Brabourne Stadium and the Kane Williamson led team registered an emphatic victory which helped them move way up the table straight to the second position. This is a significant jump from their initial position as they had lost their first two matches of the season. Irrespective of the situation, it was a horrible display by Royal Challengers Bangalore and they gave one of the worst performances in the history of the Indian Premier League. In fact, their first innings total against Sunrisers Hyderabad today is the 6th lowest total ever in the history of the Indian Premier League.
RCB lost a couple of important wickets very early on in the match and just like all the other matches this season, the responsibility of handling the innings was on the shoulders of Dinesh Karthik. However, it is not possible for a player to perform in every single match and Dinesh Karthik failed to step up today. He nicked one of the balls behind to the wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran and although the Umpire called it a wide, Captain Kane Williamson went upstairs for the review and they ended up being right and the Umpire gave DK as out. However, Dinesh Karthik had started to walk off even before the umpire could give his decision.
