In the ongoing test between India and South Africa at Johannesburg, Hanuma Vihari who was given an opportunity in place of full-time skipper Virat Kohli got out off Kagiso Rabada’s bowling after putting up 42 runs for the 4th wicket along with stand-in captain KL Rahul.
Middle order batsmen Hanuma Vihari returned to the Playing XI after almost a year. Virat Kohli suffered an injury and was not fully fit to play the 2nd test.
Hanuma Vihari came out to bat at No.5 after Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane fell off successive deliveries.
On the fourth ball of the 39th over of team India’s first innings, Vihari fell off Kagiso Rabada’s delivery. Kagiso Rabada bowled a short ball which touched Hanuma Vihari’s gloves. Van Der Dussen pulled off a stunner standing in short leg to remove the 28-year-old. Hanuma Vihari managed to score 20 off 53 deliveries.
Vihari made a long walk to the pavilion after it was shown on the big screen that Rabada’s foot has just touched the line.
Fans erupted on social media as Vihari was unfortunate and got out off a no ball. But neither the on-field umpires nor the third umpire spotted the no ball.
Kagiso Rabada has bowled a lot of no balls in the ongoing three match test series.
Umpires are getting trolled on social media over the same.
Upon winning the toss, Team India managed to put up a total of 202 on the board. Stand-in skipper KL Rahul scored fifty runs. Other than Rahul, no other player managed to score a half century. Ravichandran Ashwin missed his half century by only four runs.
At the end of the first day’s play, South Africa ended at 35/1. Mohammad Shami took the wicket of Aiden Markram who scored just seven.
Team India are leading the three match test series by 1-0. The Men in Blue will be looking to register a win here at Wanderers and become the first Indian team to register a series win in South Africa.
