IPL 2022, Dhoni’s CSK take on Faf’s RCB in the 49th match of the ongoing IPL season. The match is taking place at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first, stating Moeen Ali comes back in place of Left hander Mitchell Santner. Du Plessis stated their playing 11 is unchanged.
Batting first RCB started the powerplay well with 57 for no loss. But lost their first wicket in the form of the skipper. Moeen Ali striked in form and dangerous looking Faf who got caught by Ravindra Jadeja.
Australian Power hitter Glenn Maxwell came in at no. 3 but couldn’t take the team forward as he was sent back by Robin Uthappa’s run out. Glenn Maxwell who was retained by RCB earlier this season had got into some miscommunication with Virat Kohli which led into the run out. Tossed up, around off, Kohli plays it down the covers and sets off for a run. Maxwell too sets off but hesitated a little. In the meantime Robin Uthappa threw the ball to the keeper and Dhoni’s lightning fast gloves broke the wickets before Maxwell crossed the line. Maxwell had to go for 3 runs of 3 balls with the team’s score remains 76/2.
RCB is sixth in the points table with CSK at 9th. Both the teams would like to win it to make their way to the playoffs.
