Mumbai Indians have given a horrible performance in the Indian Premier League 2022 so far. The 5-times champions have played 4 matches in this season so far and they have failed to win even a single match and are currently placed at the bottom of the IPL 2022 table. They are also the only team to have not won a single match in the Indian Premier League 2022 so far and it is a humiliating statistic for them. Rohit Sharma and Co. will thus want to change this in their today’s match against Punjab Kings.
MI and PBKS are currently squaring off at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in the 23rd match of the season. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. However, Mumbai were in for a surprise as Punjab Kings received a dreamy start to their innings as both their openers Shikhar Dhawan and Captain Mayank Agarwal scored their respective half-centuries and their partnership summed up to more than half of Punjab’s total score. Unfortunately, none of the other batters of Punjab Kings were able to pull off a similar performance and thus their innings started to collapse after that.
Liam Livingstone, who has been the best batsman of Punjab Kings so far this season also failed to score many runs in this match. However, Jasprit Bumrah must be given his due credit for that. His pinpoint yorker cleaned up the English Batsman who was one of the biggest possible threats to Mumbai Indians in the middle overs.
Punjab Kings have scored 183 runs from 19.1 overs so far and Mumbai Indians will thus have to chase down a huge total if they are to register their first win of IPL 2022 tonight.
