Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya gave a captain’s performance today in the intense match between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals. He was pretty much the lone warrior of Gujarat an today’s match and he played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 87 off 52 and it included 4 sixes and 8 fours. He was the highest runscorer of the night and many are saying that vintage Hardik Pandya is back. This is a good sign not only for GT but also for Hardik as it would increase his chances of finding his way back to the Indian National Team.
With this knock, he had overtaken Hardik Pandya to become the Orange cap holder for some time. After his fabulous knock in tonight’s match, Hardik Pandya has scored 228 runs in 5 matches and it was a bit more than what Jos Buttler had. A viral video has now shown that after Pandya overtook Buttler in the leaderboard, the Englishman removed his Orange cap and placed it behind his back as a sign of respect towards Pandya’s knock. The video has now gone viral and people are praising Pandya for his brilliant show of sportsman spirit and they are also calling him a true gentleman.
However, Jos Buttler scored a fifty himself in the very second innings and thus once again became the Orange cap holder and thus Hardik Pandya did not remain at the top of the leaderboard for a long time.
As it now stands, Jos Buttler (272) and Hardik Pandya (228) are placed at the 1st and 2nd positions respectively on the Orange Cap table.
