Lucknow Super Giants registered their second win of the season last night against Sunrisers Hyderabad and with this, they are now seated comfortably on the 5th position of the points table having played 3 matches and they will soon move into the top 4 spots as soon as one of the other teams makes a mistake and loses some points as all the Top 5 teams as of now have scored the same number of points (4) and as the competition proceeds further we will be getting a better understanding at where all the teams stand.
However, from what we have seen so far, LSG has what it takes to qualify for the playoffs pretty easily. They just lost one out of the 3 games that they played this season (which was their first match against Gujarat Titans and ever since they have seemed to be unstoppable. Some terrific balanced performances by their batting and bowling side have consistently been given the rewards and in last night’s match, we saw that again. Their captain KL Rahul and middle-order batsman Deepak Hooda played two great innings of 68 runs and 51 runs respectively and in bowling, Avesh Khan (4/24), Jason Holder (3/34) and Krunal Pandya (2/27) were their best performers.
An important moment of the match last night was the dismissal of Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Rahul Tripathi. Tripathi is one of the best and the most responsible batters this season and captain Kane Williamson has a lot of faith in him. He played a great inning of 44 off 30 last night and he was starting to look very dangerous. And thus LSG’s Krunal Pandya was very happy after taking his wicket. We know that Krunal is a very expressive player and he thus gave a very aggressive send-off to Rahul Tripathi. A video of the same has now gone viral on social media.
