Today’s first match of Super Sunday in IPL 2022 ended in a pretty comfortable win in favour of Delhi Capitals. The Rishabh Pant led team took on table toppers Kolkata Knight Riders today and it was surprising to see the way in which they simply toyed with them in every aspect of the match. Delhi Capitals were just a better side in both Batting and Bowling and KKR could not match their intensity. It is very rare in IPL 2022 for a team who bats first to win the match and not many franchises have been able to do so this season so far. Delhi Capitals did exactly that today.
They scored a phenomenal first innings score of 215 at a loss of 6 wickets and gave KKR a massive target which baffled them and put the table toppers under pressure from the very first delivery. After coming in to chase, the pressure was clearly visible on the faces of the KKR batters and they all fell down one after the other. Captain Shreyas Iyer held ground for a while but he too had to depart after his half century.
Delhi’s best performer in the second innings was Kuldeep Yadav and here should not be any argument regarding that. Kuldeep picked up 4 wickets in today’s match and he also took a sensational catch to depart Umesh Yadav. As a result, KKR were all down for just 171 runs and DC registered an emphatic win by a huge margin of 44 runs. This will be a huge boost to their confidence.
