Delhi Capitals registered an emphatic win over Punjab Kings in today’s match between the two sides which was played at the Brabourne Stadium. Fans had expected it to be an intense match with many ups and downs but Rishabh Pant and his men made it look like a piece of cake and it is definitely one of their best performances in the Indian Premier League this season. This landslide victory will help them tons in increasing their confidence for the rest of the season and might be the turning point for Delhi Capitals.
DC won the toss and opted to bowl first and the tremendous performance that their bowlers gave in the first innings completely dismantled the Punjab Kings setup from the very beginning. PBKS were able to score a low totla of just 115 which Delhi Capitals chased down in 11 overs with 9 wickets still in hand. This was perhaps the biggest win by far in the IPL 2022.
The Man of the Match award was given to Kuldeep Yadav and it was much deserved. Kuldeep picked up 2 wickets in today’s match and also maintained a very low economy rate of just 6. After winning the award, Kuldeep shared it with Axar Patel who too was outstanding in the first innings and he was also terrific in fielding today. “I would like to share this award with Axar. He bowled well and took important wickets in the middle,” Kuldeep said.
“To be very honest, I have got plenty of confidence this season and I am also mentally clear with my role. I just focus on my line and length and not on what the batter is going to do. I don’t watch videos now, when you are very confused you watch videos to see what a batter might do,” he said after winning the award.
