VIDEO: Marco Jansen gets frustrated and throws a ball at Pant ! See how Pant reacts

Rishabh Pant and Marco Jansen

South Africa’s young left arm seamer Marco Jansen has had some heated verbal battles with Jasprit Bumrah in the previous tests.

Bumrah replied by shattering his stumps in the first innings of the third and final test at Newlands, Cape Town.

Marco Jansen lost his cool while bowling to the Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant in the second innings of the game. The incident took place on the 50th over of team India’s final innings on Day 3. Lungi Ngidi had just removed the Indian skipper and Team India had lost five wickets in total. Marco Jansen bowled a full delivery to which Pant responded by playing a straight drive. The ball went towards the bowler’s hands and Jansen threw the ball immediately towards Pant in the hope of getting him run-out. However, Pant was well within his crease and he did not lose his cool. He simply defended the ball. Infact, the 24 year old did not have to move the bat much as he was already in a position to it.

Rishabh Pant eventually completed his 4th test hundred and remained unbeaten till the end of the innings. After taking a 13 run lead in the first innings, Team India were bowled out for 198 runs in the second innings. Pant’s hundred helped the visitors impose a target of 212 in front of the home team.

While chasing down the target of 212, the Proteas lost the wicket of Aiden Markram quite early in the innings. But skipper Dean Elgar and Keegan Petersen continued to move the scoreboard for the Proteas. Eventually Bumrah got the ‘big fish’ as he removed the Proteas skipper from the middle. At stumps on Day 3, South Africa have managed to score 101 runs at the loss of two wickets. They need another 111 runs to win the test and the series while team India need to scalp another 8 wickets.
