The funniest incident took place today during the second test match of the recently concluded Test series between South Africa and Bangladesh. Talking about the match, South Africa completely dominated the game from the very beginning and they were the better side in every aspect of the game. They were better in both batting and bowling in all the innings that were played and they thus inflicted a crushing defeat in the second test. The first test had ended in a similar fate as it that too was won by South Africa and they ended up winning the series by a 2-0 margin and they thus completely whitewashed the visitors.
In the second test that was played at St. George’s Oval, South Africa won the toss and opted to bat first. They were able to put up a massive first innings total of 453 runs and came on to bat in the second innings, Bangladesh was able to counter that with just 217 runs. Seeing the opportunity to win the match easily, South Africa played smartly and declared after having made just 176 runs.
In Bangladesh’s second innings, the South African bowlers completely dismantled them and they were all out for just 80 runs which is a shameful statistic indeed.
However, the incident that we are going to talk about in today’s article is the hilarious catch miss of Bangladesh player Mehidy Hasan. He was standing at Point during South Africa’s bowling and the batsman played a shot directly towards him. However, he faced a brain freeze moment and completely lost all sense of what was happening around him thus he did not even try to catch that ball and it hit his body. He thus missed a brilliant catch to dismiss the set batsman and in fact became injured himself.
