There is no doubt in the fact that Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has one of the most unique and unorthodox bowling actions in all of world cricket. His action is very much like his inspiration, idol and early days guru Lasith Malinga. Under the Sri Lankan bowler’s guidance, Bumrah turned his action into one of the most unpredictable and lethal ones in World Cricket and as it now stands, he is one of the best bowlers in the world across all formats. However, we have never seen a player trying to mimic Jasprit Bumrah’s action…until now.
Australian all-rounder Nic Maddinson who has previously played in the Indian Premier League as well for famous franchises like Mumbai Indians and RCB was featured in the final of the Sheffield Shield 2022 which was being played between Western Australia and Victoria. The tournament featured over 24 matches and was a huge success.
We do not usually see Nic Maddinson bowling but he did it today and made the headlines with an unpredictable move. When he came in the bowl the 161st over of the match, which was his 4th over, Mic Maddinson was seen using Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action on the very first delivery and it was a dot ball. What was the funniest thing is that Maddinson is a spinner and that made the mimicked action look even more hilarious.
Even Nic Maddinson’s own teammates started laughing and the commentator took a comic dig at the player as well. After the delivery, the commentator said, “Wel bowled Bumrah” and even Nic Maddinson himself was laughing.
