Team India had a day off on Friday ahead of their important match against New Zealand on Sunday. The Men in Blue spent the day while having a fun beach session where they were seen playing volleyball to release some stress and take some time off cricket.
Virat Kohli and co have been gearing up for their upcoming clash against New Zealand since losing their opening fixture. The players enjoyed their off day by playing a completely different sport ‘Volleyball’ in a beach in Dubai. The entire squad along with mentor MS Dhoni participated in the sport and a video of the same was posted from the official twitter handle of BCCI.

The Board wrote in the post: “A game of beach volleyball as #TeamIndia unwinds in their day off!”.
Team India lost their opening encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan in a battle of nerves at Abu Dhabi last Sunday. The Men in Green thrashed the Men in Blue in all departments as they won the match by 10 wickets and 13 balls remaining. This was Pakistan’s maiden win in World Cup stages. Pakistan won their first World Cup match against India in 29 years as they rewrote history.
India will now take on Kane Williamson’s New Zealand side who has also lost their opening encounter against Pakistan by 5 wickets. Hence it will be an important match in terms of who will increase their chances of being in the top two.

Ahead of the match, former India seamer Zaheer Khan has sent out a big warning to the Men in Blue.
“We all know that if India plays to their potential, no team will find it easy to stand against,” said Khan during an interaction on Cricbuzz, and added, “it is always important for a side to catch up the winning momentum at the earliest, especially in the World Cup. This time India have lost their first match and should make sure it isn’t too late. The next game against New Zealand is a do or die one.”
