IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians take on Gujrat Titans in the 51st match of the season. The two teams are against each other for the very first time ever in the IPL. Gujrat won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first in the Brabourne Stadium. Batting first Mumbai started well with both the openers opening the innings in their destructive style.
Out of form Rohit Sharma made a blistering 43 off 28 deliveries and Ishan Kishan made 45 off 29 deliveries. Starting off well Mumbai lost their skipper in the 8th over off Rashid Khan by LBW. Though Mumbai managed to put a fighting total on the board of 177/6.
In the meantime, an incident caught everyone’s eye involving Rashid Khan. The incident took place in the sixth over when the Afghani spinner ran after the ball to stop it. Rashid stopped it well but while throwing he ended up throwing it way ahead of the fielder which resulted in a couple of extra runs. This left the GT skipper laughing out hard with the commentators too left in splits.
GT are currently the table toppers with Mumbai struggling to escalate their position in the table.
