Chennai Super Kings registered their second victory in the Indian Premier League 2022 last night in a trailblazing duel between them and the Mumbai Indians. Thanks to a brilliant knock by former CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, they were able to pull off a last minute victory against a sturdy Mumbai Indians side but apart from that we must address the fact that CSK were pretty mediocre in the entirety of the match. In fact, Mumbai Indians were the better side all throughout and they would’ve won had it not been for the individual brilliance of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
However we must say that Chennai Super Kings made many mistakes on their part as well and it was one of the most unlikely days for them. Even players like Ravindra Jadeja who is considered to be the best fielder in the world, committed an unforgivable fielding mistake and thus lost the golden opportunity to dismiss Dewald Brevis very early on in the match.
Although Dewald Brevis lost his wicket a moment later, his catch drop by Jadeja was a key moment in this match and made even MS Dhoni Angry. It was acceptable as we usually do not see Jadeja making such mistakes. The video of the same went viral all over the internet and fans are very upset with the catch drop.
Jadeja has not been in his usual form from every aspect so far in the Indian Premier League 2022. The pressure of captaincy is taking a toll on him. We hope that he gets his form back.
