Delhi Capitals are currently squaring off against Lucknow Super Giants in the 15th match of Indian Premier League 2022 at Maharashtra’s D.Y Patil Stadium and it has so far turned out to be an even competition. Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and opted to bat first as they have been very successful while batting second so far in the competition.
Delhi’s batting lineup gave a poor performance in the match and they could just score a mere first innings total of 149 runs despite losing only 3 wickets which tells us how difficult it is to score at D.Y Patil Stadium’s pitch. David Warner played his first match in IPL 2022 today and failed to impress with his 4 of 12 knocks. However, opener Prithvi Shaw was simply sensational and by far the best BC batsman in the match. He played a tremendous knock of 61 off 34 and contributed a lot to DC’s total.
After his departure, Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan took control of Delhi’s innings. They scored 39 off 36 and 36 off 28 respectively and their partnership gave Delhi Capitals the closure that they needed for their innings. Although they failed to score runs at a great pace, it was a difficult wicket and thus even this total is defendable.
Although Rishabh Pant was not seen hitting many big shots today and he hit only 2 sixes, he played one particular shot that won the hearts of many fans. He played a terrific scoop shot that looked like MS Dhoni’s helicopter shot but fans are calling it the mini helicopter. Have a look at Pant’s shot.
