IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians met Rajasthan Royals in an encounter on 30th April at Dr. DY Patil stadium, Mumbai. Mumbai who were finding their first win got to taste it today vs RR as they defeated RR by 5 wickets with 4 balls to spare.

It’s a very rare thing to see in cricket that a batsman consoles the bowler on his appeal being denied by DRS technology. The MI batsman shared such a moment with RR spinner Yuzi Chahal.

MI on winning the toss chose to bowl first and inviting RR to bat first restricted them at just 158. While chasing MI also lost their openers early. MI was just 41/2 when SKY and Tilak Verma toon control over ta match and turned it around. While chasing in the 8th over of the match, Yuzi came into the attack. He bowled a delivery in line of middle stump turning away from Suryakumar on the last ball. SKY tried to sweep it but missed. The ball hit the pads and the bowler made a loud appeal but got rejected by the on field umpire. RR reviewed the ball and saw the ball was hitting the top of off the stump. SKY later scored 51 off 39 balls.

Chahal was seen dejected by the decision of the umpire while the right hander was seen consoling him with a hug. The match ended in favour of MI, resulting in MI ‘s first win of the season. MI beat RR by 5 wickets and 4 balls left.
