The South Africa tour of India started with the T20 series going on under the leadership of Rishabh Pant. Pant was appointed the captain of Indian cricket team after KL Rahul was pull out of the series just few days before the start of the series. The first T20 took place at Delhi with South Africa in the winning side. They successfully chased a massive target set by India with blistering performance from David Miller and Rassie Van der Dussen.

The second T20 took place on 12th June at Cuttack, Odisha. South African skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bowl first. Inviting India to bat first the South African team managed to take early wickets and restricted India to score a huge total. India concluded their innings at 148/6 in 20 overs.

In response to that, South Africa successfully chased down the target in 18.2 overs with 10 balls to spare. An anchoring innings was seen from the skipper Temba Bavuma who scored 35 off 30 deliveries as Bhubaneswar dismissed their top order completely. Match winning innings was played by Heinrich Klassen who scored 81 off 46 with 7 boundaries and 5 sixes.

But the moment that won the audience’s heart was the shot from skipper Temba Bavuma. In the 4th over Hardik Pandya came into the attack with Temba Bavuma on the strike and in the fourth ball of the the over Bavuma did a AB de Villiers to deposit the ball in the stands. He scooped the ball up the Wicket Keepers head in the fine leg direction and the ball went for a six.

Bavuma went on to score 35 off 30 balls with a sensible innings to anchor the falling wickets. South Africa went on to win the match as well as the series. India will look into the tests and odi to take revenge of the series win.
