Video: Trent Boult mimics Steve Smith’s backfoot defense – Hilarious scenes in NZ vs ENG Test

England and New Zealand are currently taking on each other in the first match of their ongoing 3-match test series and the match has been odd to a sensational start thus far. Talking about the events of the match being played at the historic Lord’s Cricket ground, so far none of the teams have been able to find a firm footing in it.

New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first but that happened to be the wrong decision and it got proved right in a matter of moments. New Zealand’s sensational batting order simply scattered in front of England’s solid pace attack, especially the duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad. However, Matty Potts came out of syllabus for New Zealand and he ended up picking 4 wickets as well for England.

New Zealand were all out for a total of just 132 in 40 overs but coming in to bat in their second innings, England were not that great either.

At the end of Day 1, England trail by 16 runs but they have already lost as many as 7 wickets.

A strange event took place on day 1 of the match when Trent Boult tried to immitate Steve Smith of Australia. Steve Smith has a signature backfoot defense and this is what Trent Boult tried to immitate. It ended up being a hilarious scene in the middle of the match and all the spectators on and off the stadium and even the players started laughing.
