VIDEO: Umpire calls Padikkal back after his dismissal – Too Much Drama in RCB vs RR match

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals are currently squaring off against each other in the 14th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 at the Wankhede stadium in a thrilling match. Rajasthan Royals are unbeaten so far in the tournament and RCB has lost just one match. While RR will be trying to maintain their unbeaten streak in IPL 2022, RCB will look to extend their winning record.

RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first. Coming in to bat, RR got a not so great start to their innings as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal gave away his wicket very cheaply early on in the match. This is yet another poor performance by the youngster and he has not been able to perform well throughout the tournament so far he will look to make a comeback soon.

Coming back to the match, Devdutt Padikkal played a great knock of 37 off 29 which was important in building the momentum for Rajasthan Royals but his dismissal involved a lot of controversies. Akash Deep bowled a fabulous delivery and Padikkal completely misread it. He tried to play a lofted shot but it was untimed and it went straight up. Virat Kohli took a fabulous catch and thus Devdutt Padikkal had to depart.

However, that was when the drama started. The Umpire was very late for checking the no-ball and in fact, he even called Padikkal back to the pitch to check the delivery. However, it later proved to be a fair delivery and Padikkal had to depart anyways. Still, this is something that is not seen very often in the Indian Premier League and we expect to see much better umpiring in the biggest T20 League tournament in the world.
