Today’s IPL 2022 clash between Chennai Super Kings and new franchise Lucknow Super Giants turned out to be a complete treat to the eyes of the fans as it was one of the most thrilling encounters so far in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. We have seen 200+ scores being chased down in a number of matches so far this season and today we witnessed yet another similar instance.
Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and opted to bowl first at the Brabourne stadium as the dew factor helps the batting side a lot in the second innings and it turned out to be true. Ravindra Jadeja led Chennai Super Kings were able to reach a fabulous first innings total of 210/7 thanks to brilliant knocks by Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube but unfortunately, no target is good enough in IPL 2022.
Coming on to chase, the two opening batters of Lucknow Super Giants – Captain KL Rahul and Wicket-keeper Quinton De Kock gave them a phenomenal start as they scored 40 and 61 runs each. Evin Lewis also played a brilliant winning knock of 55* off 23 in the middle over. However, it was Ayush Badoni who finished off the match in style with his heroics. Badoni played a great cameo of 19 off 9 and hit two massive sixes one of which hit a woman in the stands. LSG needed 9 runs to win in the last over and Ayush Badoni did it alone without the help of in-form Evin Lewis. This shows how much of a big talent Evin Lewis is.
This is the second successive disappointing defeat of defending champions Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022 while it is LSG’s first win ever in Indian Premier League.
