IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals (DC) take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 58th match of the ongoing IPL season. The match is taking place in DY Patil stadium, Mumbai. Winning the toss DC decided to bowl first. Inviting RR to bat first they restricted them for a score of 160/6 with Ravi Ashwin’s brilliant 50(38) and Devdutt Padikkal 48(30).
Capitals came on to chase down the target in the second innings but didn’t get a fine start as they lost their opener S. Bharat for a duck. Australian combo David Warner and Mitchell Marsh had a very good partnership and brought their team on the track again.
A tragic incident occurred in the 10th over when Yuzi Chahal came onto bowl. It was chahal’s opening spell in which he conceded 11 runs. But in the last bowl he almost took the wicket of Warner. Chahal landed the bowl outside off, of which Warner looked to hit it through the offside but left a big gap between bat and the pad. The ball turned in and just touched the leg pole, but the collision was not enough to dislodge the bails. Warner luckily escaped his wicket.
RR is having a great season as they are standing tall in the third position in the points table. DC is looking strong to win the match which will escalate their position in the points table.
