Video: Yuzvendra Chahal drops the easiest catch of Shubman Gill – GT get a lifeline

IPL 2022, The final match is going on between the table toppers of the season , Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans and Sanju Samson led Rajasthan Royals. Though they met in the qualifiers 1 but again the final was also between these two itself as the other two got eliminated from the race. Rajasthan though lost the qualifiers 1 but came back stronger and won the qualifiers 2 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Rajasthan won the toss and elected to bat first. They got a good start but failed to take it long as the first wicket fell in the 4th over. It seemed as if the pitch was for bowlers as other batsmen too failed to spend time on the crease. As a result RR couldn’t make a big score but with the tailenders support the score went to a fighting total of 130. Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya bowled a terrific spell of 3 for 17 in four overs. The captain led from front.

Though the total is quite low for the finals, the pressure and pitch plays the main role. Gujarat Titans came in to bat for the second innings with a target of 131 in 20 overs. And the first over itself was a dramatic one as RR spinner Yuzi Chahal dropped Shubman Gill for 0 in the 4th ball itself. Trent Boult started the bowling attack for RR and in the 4th ball itself trapped the GT opener but the drop catch gave him a lifeline. A length ball around leg with a steep bounce of which Gill steps down and looked to flick it but the ball got the inside edge and went straight to short mid wicket fielder Yuzi Chahal. Chahal runs forward and dives too but put down the sitter.

Since then RR made a comeback taking 2 early wickets but needs to take the rest more quickly to win the final.
