Gautam Gambhir further said on Wednesday that despite having the stars performers with the likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the squad for so many years, RCB still failed to win the any of Indian Premier League title.
Gambhir pointed the key reason for why RCB has failed to win an IPL title ,they have failed to win the title just because they don’t have match winning international fast bowlers in their squad.
Gautam Gambhir spoke on why RCB have not won any the title yet
In international matches where you’ve got 5 or 6 top bowlers, but you don’t have that comfortable in the IPL. All teams can get 2 or 3 international bowlers and then additional of domestic players in to the team ,whom you could easily dominate” said Gambhir.
Gambit further said there can a lot of pressure on Virat and AB as well, which Maxwell can reduce this season by performing well , because Maxwell was already in brilliant form in the first phase of IPL Season,if you don’t win that title the pressure keeps on increasing as well.
Gambhir who is a former Captain and two-time IPL champion, also suggested that Virat Kohli has got lot of positiveness with likes of AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell in the squad.
Virat got players like AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell, which is a huge addition to RCB
RCB has big hitters if Maxwell doesn’t perform then AB will perform because there is only one person who can take on someone like Jasprit Bumrah and it was AB de Villiers. I have not seen anyone else like AB perform it consistently against Jasprit Bumrah, but AB is a freak,” said Gambhir.
RCB will be playing opening match against Gautam Gambhir’s former team Kolkata Knight Riders on September 20.
