Team India got a brilliant start on Day 3 thanks to the partnership of Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara. The duo almostly single handedly carried Team India’s second innings score. It is because of them that the Blues are undoubtedly in a winning position right now.
Both Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane completed their respective half centuries today but unfortunately departed soon after.
And with the in-form batters gone, India’s wickets started falling down like a deck of cards yet again.
The most unbelievable and surprising dismissals was undoubtedly that of Rishabh Pant. It was kind of a brain fade moment for the wicket-keeper who completely misread the delivery.
It was the 38th over and Kagiso Rabada was bowling. On the very second delivery, Rabada bowled a short length delivery and out of nowhere Rishabh Pant stepped out, edging the ball in an attempt to hit it hard.
It was a terrible attempt and was completely unnecessary. Indian head coach Rahul Dravid was seemingly very upset at his dismissal.
Videos of Rishabh Pant’s dismissal started being shared on social media and fans started criticizing the youngster for his irresponsible approach.
As it now stands, India has a good enough lead of 153 runs and Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari are the two batsmen on the pitch.
The worrying part is that India have already lost 5 wickets and any target less than 250 will be considered to be too less on this pitch.
