It is about identifying emerging talents from all over India to give them the chance to shine at the biggest stage of all in the world of cricket. IPL has been doing this for a long time now and it has produced several gems who later made it to the Indian National Team as well. However, it must be noted that this is applicable not only for the youngsters but also for those veteran domestic cricket players who were unable to make a mark of themselves at the International stage due to lack of opportunities. And that is exactly what Shashank Singh did today in the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans.

In the match being played at the Wankhede Stadium, Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first. Sunrisers Hyderabad got a unfortunate start as their captain Kane Williamson got out too soon but the incredible batting of Abhishek Sharma gave them hope. He was simply phenomenon today but failed to go past the score of 65.

It was followed by the half a ton knock of Aiden Markram who scored 56 runs and gave momentum to the innings. However, SRH was still in dire need of a great finishing and that was what Shashank Singh provided.

He scored 25 runs in just 6 deliveries at an unbelievable strike rate of 415. He his 4,2,1,6,6,6 in the 6 balls that he faced and stunned everyone. The most stunning thing is that this was his first match in IPL 2022.
