Today’s clash in the Indian Premier League between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad took a completely unexpected turn when the Kane Williamson led side ended up defeating Gujarat Titans. It was unexpected as Sunrisers Hyderabad have not had such a great campaign so far this season and on the other hand, Gujarat Titans were the only unbeaten side in the IPL 2022 and now there is no team remaining who has not lost a single match in the Indian Premier League this season.
Talking about the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers gave them a very good start as they were able to restrict the strong Gujarat Batting lineup to a mere first innings score of just 162 which is very less considering the form that Gujarat Titans have been in so far in the Indian Premier League this season.
Among the good performers of Gujarat Titans, today was their captain Hardik Pandya who scored an unbeaten half-century – his first in IPL 2022. A very interesting thing took place regarding the half-century of Hardik Pandya though. At the beginning of the match, a fan was seen holding a placard from the stands which read “If Hardik Hits a 50 I’ll resign from my job”. Yes, a pretty weird bet considering the fact that he had nothing at stake to win and thus after Hardik completed the fifty, the post went viral as the fans were wondering whether the guy would actually leave his job.
