Team India has started off on day 2 of their ongoing first test against Sri Lanka at the PCA Stadium, Punjab from where they left on Day 1. The hosts have fully dominated every aspect of the match so far and are now downright toying with the Sri Lanka bowling unit.
If Rishabh Pant was India’s hero of day 1, on day 2 it is Ravindra Jadeja. But Jadeja’s batting performance was even better than that of Rishabh Pant as he was able to complete his century which Pant failed to do.
After batting tremendously, Rishabh Pant was fell short of just 4 runs and departed unluckily before being able to finish his century. Ravindra Jadeja, on the other hand, completed his century in 160 deliveries. This is Ravindra Jadeja’s second test century and he celebrated by doing his signature sword celebration.
However, in a rather fun moment, we could see India’s Mohammad Siraj, who was standing outside the boundary line alongside other Indian players to applaud for Jadeja on his century, copying Jadeja’s sword celebration and he did it simultaneously with the Indian all-rounder.

Jadeja made the sword celebration famous in the world of cricket. In this, he swirls his bat with a single hand imitating a sword.
Thanks to the brilliant knocks by India’s batting order, the blues have been able to put up a score of 472/8 so far. With Ravindra Jadeja still not out, they can easily target fabulous first innings score of 600 runs.
It would be a big statement for team India and would mark their dominance in the Test cricket scenario. India have been one of the best test cricketing sides in the world for the last couple of years but their recent loss against South Africa had been very humiliating. This dominating win against Sri Lanka will mark their comeback in the longest format of the game. It is also Rohit Sharma’s first Test match as India’s permanent captain.
