Gujarat Titans all-rounder Rahul Tewatia showed us one of the best finishes ever in IPL history today with his sensational performance in the match against Punjab Kings at the Brabourne Stadium. But how Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal handled it was beyond normal and must be appreciated.
Having won the toss in the match being played at the Brabourne Stadium, GT captain Hardik Pandya opted to bowl first. Punjab Kings were fabulous in the first innings and they scored a total of 189 runs. However that too started seeming like a very low total when Shubman Gill went on a rampage from the very beginning and played a brilliant 96 runs knock.
After his departure, however, the strike rate of GT went down drastically and in the last over they needed 19 runs to win and the situation worsened so much that they needed 12 runs in 2 deliveries in the end. However, Rahul Tewatia won the match for them Single handedly by hitting two huge sixes off the last two deliveries and he shocked everyone.
However, while GT were celebrating, it was an earth shattering moment for Odean Smith who bowled the last over. It was he who lost the match in the final over and thus his regret was immense and he was thus seen crying. His captaincy Mayank Agarwal was quick to console him though as he came towards him and patted his back. A video of the same went viral on social media recently and fans are now praising Mayank Agarwal for his act of generosity and are calling him a true captain.
