Why MSD Left Captaincy – The Reason Will Blow Your Mind!

In the most shocking news, Chennai Super Kings has just announced that Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will be replacing Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the captain of the franchise from IPL 2022. This is tragic news for MS Dhoni fans and the end of an era. It will be the first time that MS Dhoni will not be the captain of any franchise in the Indian Premier League and it is a historic and also a sad moment.

CSK announced the shocking decision with a statement on their official website. The statement read, “MS Dhoni has decided to hand over the leadership of Chennai Super Kings and picked Ravindra Jadeja to lead the team. Jadeja, who has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings since 2012, will only be the third player to lead CSK. Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond.”

Both MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja are yet to make any comments on the big news but it can be expected that Dhoni will be immensely happy for Jadeja. After all, it was he who persuaded the CSK management to make Jadeja their first retained player instead of him and it might be he who persuaded them to hand him over the captaincy as well.

This will be the first of many big incidents. This is Jadeja’s first time leading an IPL team as their skipper and he will become only the second captain of CSK as ever since IPL 2008, MS Dhoni had been the only captain of the franchise.

Ravindra Jadeja is currently one of the best and the most important players in both the Indian national team and Chennai Super Kings. He is arguably one of CSK’s most important players alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad and he is also one of their most senior players. He thus deserves to replace MS Dhoni more than anyone else.

According to rumours, MS Dhoni has decided to step down from captaincy due to some main reasons which include promoting youngsters, building a team for the future and also to focus on his batting.
