Team India skipper Virat Kohli on Sunday during the post match conference shut down a journalist who had suggested him to drop Rohit Sharma and replace in-form Ishan Kishan after Pakistan emerged victorious by 10 wickets at Abu Dhabi.

After losing the toss, the Men in Blue were invited to set up a target in front of the Men in Green. However, India lost three wickets in the powerplay overs while left the team in a miserable situation. Rishabh Pant and skipper Virat Kohli took the innings forward for the team as India scored 151/7 after the completion of 20 overs.

Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam chased down the below par total easily and won comprehensively by 10 wickets. The two openers remained unbeaten till the end of the innings.

Skipper Virat Kohli was not in a good space after losing the match. During the post-match conference, a journalist asked him about the playing XI, Kohli reacted in a disturbed manner. The journalist asked whether Ishan Kishan could have been played in place of vice-captain Rohit Sharma.

Virat Kohli responded:“It’s a very brave question!! What do you think sir? I played the team that I thought was the best, what is your opinion? Will you drop Rohit Sharma of T20Is? What he did in the last game that we played!!”

After this, Virat Kohli laughed off and said: “If you want controversies, please tell me before so I can answer accordingly.”

Rohit Sharma got out for a first ball duck as the left arm pacer Shaheen Afridi found himself in front of the stumps. Rohit Sharma did not ask for a ‘DRS’ as it was clear that the ball was going to hit the middle stump.

Ishan Kishan was looking in good touch as he managed to score 70 runs off 46 deliveries during the India’s warm up match against England. Kishan was looking in fine form but did not get a place in India’s opening fixture against Pakistan.
